Whisk is a modern, posh looking cafe in the Tiong Bahru Estate that really caught our attention with the clean white exterior and interior.
We went there for breakfast and I would say their breakfast menu is very limited with only 3 dishes to choose from. It’s probably because they are more known as a bakery cafe. On top of that, they only serve their breakfast menu only on weekends from 9 am to 7 pm.
We ordered the Eggs Benedict which is the classic breakfast dish we all know. You can choose from ham, smoked salmon, smoked duck or florentine, but I chose the ham option. The toasted homemade brioche was quite thin and wasn’t crisp, but because it was soft it soaked up the runny yolk well. The Hollandaise sauce is homemade and added a nice flavour to the dish. It also comes with a side of salad, but the dressing was very sparse so, after a few mouthfuls, I felt like I was just eating raw vegetables.
The Whisk Omelette with Toast has 3 options of fillings to choose from. We chose the bacon, cheese and mushrooms. It was quite a disappointing dish as it was just an omelette with a few pieces of bacon, mushroom and cheese inside. Also, the salad had the same situation with the one above.
It was interesting how their coffee menu stated the differences between each cuppa.We got an Iced Latte and it was rather bland to me. However, having one cup wouldn’t do justice to their other blends.
Whisk is around a 10-minute walk from Outram Park MRT. If you are planning a trip here, I’d suggest to cafe hop as there are plenty of other cafes nearby.
