Capital Cafe: Another Cafe that serves the Typical Hong Kong Breakfast

Capital Cafe InteriorWhen Eugene and I were in Hong Kong, we were recommended by a fellow HK foodie to visit this place, and so we did! At 10am, it was still bustling with the morning crowd. What we liked about this place was that the staff here were slightly friendlier compared to the staff at Australia Dairy Company, and was slower paced too. We didn’t feel the need to stuff our faces and leave the place ASAP like how we felt like in Australia Dairy Co.

Another great thing about this cafe? They had an English menu (see below)! This is sort of a rare thing to find in Hong Kong’s food shops, we realised, as most of the menus were in Traditional Chinese. I already struggle with Simplified Chinese, imagine how stressed I was looking at the Traditional Chinese words every time in HK.

Of course, we were here to try the typical Hong Kong breakfast so we ordered the Breakfast Set, consisting of Macaroni with Ham, Scrambled Eggs on Toast and Coffee/ Milk Tea. I would say the macaroni with ham was pretty standard, and their scrambled eggs were not as fluffy as the ones at Australia Dairy Co, but were still delicious.Capital Cafe Macaroni with Ham

We got something apart from the typical HK breakfast here – the Condensed Milk and Peanut Butter Toast. When it was served to us, we realised it was the Peanut Butter Thick Toast we always have at Toast Box, so you can expect how it tastes like already. A thick crunchy peanut butter slathered on a crunchy toast, I’m salivating ugh.Capital Cafe Condensed Milk and Peanut Butter ToastPrice: HK$9/ SG$1.60
