Niku Katsumata: CBD Lunch Promotion Set Starting from $12.80++

Niku Katsumata just launched a lunch menu specially catered to the fast-moving CBD life at Tanjong Pagar. With 5 sets to choose from, there’ll definitely be one for you to indulge in (picture of menu down below).

All the sets came with a range of appetisers like miso soup, salad, pickled vegetable and kobachi. Don’t look past these appetisers as they may be the best ones you’ve ever had. We wiped out the Chinese cabbage salad as we never had anything like it before. It was topped Umami Seaweed, making this salad both sweet & savoury at the same time.

Loved the profile of flavours in the A4 Wagyu Donburi with Bonito Broth. Simply pour your desired amount of this hot broth into your donburi, and have your Japanese rice soak in the sweet bonito flavours. Topped with melt-in-the-mouth wagyu, this was a heart-warming dish. Note that because the soup is hot, it might cook the wagyu slightly.

If you really feel like pampering yourself, give the Beef King Jyu (Sashimi/Aburi) a shot because you’ll not regret it. On the bed of seaweed Japanese rice is thinly chopped beef that is completely raw and hence has a really strong beef taste. If you’re someone that loves beef flavours, this is a must-try for you. We probably enjoyed this the most and it had the most interactive experience. The A4 Wagyu Beef Set comes with the same appetisers as the other lunch sets, but came with an additional Japanese Pork Prosciutto.

The premium selection of A4 Wagyu (60g) starts with, from left to right, 2 x Stomach, 2 x Diaphragm, 1 x Hip (top), and 2 x Thigh. Choose to dip your wagyu in 2 types of seasoning – one will be a sweet sauce and the other sea salt. The staff here will cook the wagyu on a crystal plate, instead of your regular metal plates as the crystal plate will give your wagyu a very even cooking. They will then recommend which parts of the beef goes with which sauce.
End of your meal with the sweetest and comforting Japanese A4 Beef Curry. The Japanese curry wasn’t spicy at all, so it’s perfect for those who can’t eat spicy food (like me) and was so tasty.
