Upon our arrival at The Gaia Hotel, we went to Piacere Restaurant at Level 1 to have afternoon tea. This restaurant had a very classy interior and it serves mainly western cuisine, but also fusion dishes. This restaurant is also where the breakfast buffet is held in the morning, plus where you can enjoy free drinks during happy hours at night.
We were seated by the window, with a view of their beautiful library outside. We were then asked to choose a drink each, and they had lots of options like juices, tea, coffee & soft drinks. We got an Iced Latte and also a Twinnings Hot Berry Tea.
The high tea started with a refreshing angel hair pasta with sesame sauce and some fresh fruits.
We then patiently waited for our high tea to be served and I loved how simple the presentation was. We could see everything we were having in the very lovely display. I was really impressed by the canapes like the Deviled Egg, Cheese Toast and Bacon on a stick. The egg was so creamy, and they served it with a cheese biscuit which I felt was such a great pairing.
One thing I love about high tea is that you can have it any way you want. I found myself jumping between the sweets and savouries.
One of my favourite desserts was made-to-order soufflé. It was served piping hot and when I sunk my spoon into the crisp exterior, I could feel how fluffy it was.
Price: NT$980/ S$43 per pax
