Plum & Toro: High-end Japanese Dining

We visited Plum & Toro recently for a celebration and we were really impressed with the food here. Located at The InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay, it had a really nice and dim interior. The staff here were so helpful, the service here was just excellent. Here are some dishes we recommend for you to try while you’re here.

Under the seafood section of the menu, we got the Yaki Sakana which is a char-grilled seasonal fish of the day. The fish was really fresh and flaky, and the sauce that came with it was sour and complemented the fish really well.lrg_dsc08929Price: $25

We decided to indulge in the Japanese Wagyu Beef and I nearly passed out. The wagyu was cooked 2 ways – first sous vide then pan fried, getting the perfect cook on the beef. It was then accompanied with snow pea sprouts and a sweet sauce. Strings of fried garlic were also added which made the dish so fragrant.

Rice is like a must-have and so we got the Sakura Ebi which was teppanyaki fried rice with cherry blossom shrimp and ao nori. The rice was really tasty and we enjoyed it on its own.
